3 Signs You’re Ready to Start A Business

For many women, the spark to start a business comes from a life-changing event, like a divorce or becoming a mother and desiring a new path, or a burning desire to make a difference in the world. But not all great ideas are born from something so dramatic.

Some ideas are born simply from discovering a better way to do something, or a void in the market. And yet other ideas are born from discovering a life-purpose and wanting to live that purpose to the fullest.

So how do you know if you are ready to start a business? Here are three signs that might be signal to you that it’s time to start a business.

  1. You live and breathe your idea

Do you fall asleep thinking about your business idea and wake up thinking about it? Does it consume your thoughts while at work, shopping or out with friends? If so, you’re ready.

This may sound extreme, but a good business idea will give you a big ol’ bear hug and not let go. It will consume you. You’ll get butterflies in your gut when you think about it.

If this is happening with you right now, you need to start taking action. Start by diving deeper and putting your idea to the test.

  1. You have a life purpose to pursue

Many people who discover their life purpose often start their own business so they can fully live that purpose, whether it be helping other people or creating a service or product that they are passionate about.

If you know your life purpose and it involves starting your own business, then don’t waste another minute holding back. Fear can often hold us back from pursuing what we know in our gut to be our life purpose. Don’t let that happen to you!

You can make that dream happen and it doesn’t have to mean turning your life upside down or quitting your job. You can start with your new business on the side and build it up over time.

If you don’t know your life purpose and feel like something is off or missing, then finding a good life coach could help you get on track.

  1. No job will make you happy

If you can’t find a career that makes you happy, it could be that you long to be your own boss. The entrepreneurial spirit is calling out to you. You may feel pressure to do the normal 9-to-5 because that is what society tells us to do. But that doesn’t have to be your path.

It’s okay to work a job to cover the bills while getting your business off the ground. That’s what many entrepreneurs do, and it’s a great way to make sure the bills are paid while you pursue your dream. But don’t settle for a job and let the “safety” of it keep you stuck for years and years.

Don’t let fear or overwhelm stop you.
